Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

I take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal information I collect, why I collect it and how I use and protect it.

For data protection purposes, the data controller is Marisa Guthrie.

Information I collect

Depending on how you interact with me, I may collect information including:

  • your name and contact details;

  • information you provide when joining my mailing list, completing a form or contacting me;

  • information you provide when purchasing or participating in my services, programmes or events;

  • payment and transaction information;

  • correspondence between us; and

  • technical information about how you use my website, including information collected through cookies and analytics tools.

I only collect information that is reasonably necessary for running my business and providing my services.

How I use your information

I may use your information to:

  • respond to enquiries;

  • provide services or products you have purchased;

  • administer bookings, programmes and events;

  • process and maintain records of payments;

  • send newsletters and marketing communications where I have an appropriate lawful basis to do so;

  • manage my business and maintain appropriate financial and administrative records; and

  • understand and improve my website and services.

Depending on the circumstances, I process your information because it is necessary to perform a contract with you, because I have a legitimate business interest in doing so, because I have a legal obligation, or because you have given your consent.

Where I rely on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time.

Email communications

If you subscribe to my newsletter or other marketing communications, you can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in my emails.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent me from contacting you where necessary in relation to a service you have purchased or an existing contractual relationship.

Sharing your information

I do not sell your personal information.

I may share information with trusted service providers that I use to operate my business, such as website hosting, email marketing, payment processing, scheduling, accounting, video conferencing and other business systems.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, I take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate data protection safeguards are in place.

I may also disclose information where required by law.

How long I keep your information

I keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including meeting legal, accounting and tax obligations.

Different categories of information may therefore be retained for different periods.

Cookies

My website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, understand how visitors use it and, where applicable, provide additional functionality.

Where consent is legally required for non-essential cookies, you will be given the opportunity to accept or reject them.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to request access to your information, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, request deletion or restriction in certain circumstances, object to certain uses of your information, and request transfer of your information where applicable.

You can also withdraw consent where consent is the basis on which your information is being processed.

To exercise your rights, contact me at marisa@marisaguthriecoaching.co.uk

If you have concerns about how your information has been handled, please contact me first so that I can try to resolve them.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.

Security

I take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information I hold against loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure.

Changes to this policy

I may update this privacy policy occasionally to reflect changes to my business, the services I use or applicable law. The current version will always be available on this website.
