Make Money Make Change

A FREE ONLINE SUMMIT ·  THURSDAY 22 OCTOBER 2026

Joining details are sent by email when you register.

Hosted by Marisa Guthrie, author of The Reluctant Capitalist.

Thursday 22 October  ·  6–9 pm UK  ·  1–4 pm ET  ·  10 am–1 pm PT  ·  Online  ·  Free

This is not a traditional business summit.

No keynotes. No slides. No polished pitches.

Make Money Make Change is a live conversation about the relationship between money, business, power, values, and social change, held alongside the launch of Marisa Guthrie’s new book, The Reluctant Capitalist: Build Your Business Without Selling Your Soul.

The book and summit ask a central question: if we want business to contribute to a different kind of economy and society, what might that look like in practice?

You’ll leave with new perspectives, practical ideas and a wider sense of what’s possible. We will explore what happens when we refuse to comply with systems that harm and dare to imagine what we can build in its place.

How can we make money and contribute to social and economic change at the same time?

THE QUESTION AT THE CENTRE

The businesses we build today are part of the economy we create tomorrow.

Each guest will come at this question from a different perspective. Among the questions we’ll explore:

  1. What role does money play in creating change?

  2. Can business be a force for good?

  3. How do we balance profit, financial sustainability, ethics and impact?

  4. What does responsible entrepreneurship look like today?

  5. How can purpose-led business owners become better resourced for the change they want to make?

  6. What new economic and business models are emerging?

  7. What might a more human way of doing business look like?

Conversations, not presentations.

HOW IT WORKS

Instead of giving talks, each guest joins Marisa for a curated conversation: informal and unscripted. After each one, the floor opens to your questions and comments.

Four conversations.

Each guest is in conversation with Marisa.

Your questions.

Audience Q&A follows every conversation.
